We have been working hard over the past few weeks getting ready for our collaboration gigs with the West Virginian band The Foxhunt. They arrived in Ireland on 21 June and before this we were collaborating digitally writing new material and getting to know each and each other’s music. There’s no substitution for face to face rehearsals thought and we had a great week pulling everything together and we played our first joint gig together in Cork on 27 June. It was great and we got great feedback from everyone.
This week we are fine tuning the performance ready for McGrory’s, Sligo and An Grianan (Letterkenny). Click here for more details of these gigs.
Joleen is also working away on preparation for her other contribution to the Earagail Arts Festival; ‘Edges – Three sides of the same sea’. This is a transnational cultural partnership between Ireland, Iceland and Norway. You can see her performing the world premiere of this on 16 July at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny.
We will also be playing locally at a few more festivals over the summer – click here for details.
Edges: 3 Sides of the Same Sea - Joleen's new composition project
Joleen has just returned from Iceland where she began research for a new project, Edges. The project brings together musicians and artists from East Iceland, East Norway and Donegal to create a new composition and artwork. Joleen is currently working with another Donegal composer, Theresa Kavanagh (fiddle) to create an hour long composition. Expect performances at the Earagail Arts Festival in July.

As you can see you can now download all of our music from our site which is a great step forward for us! Big thanks to Gavin McLaughlin at Netspace Design (www.netspacedesign.net) for his fantastic support. We can highly recommend him!
Henry Girls Manager!
We’ve recently appointed a manager – Kate Wilkinson to take care of all the business side of being in a band. Kate is wonderful and is working hard to get us much more organized and professional and we now have more time to do what we love best: playing, performing and writing music.
